short film: La Jetee
The remake of Le Jetee would cause one to anticipate that 12 Monkeys would have many similarities, but they also differ quite a bit in terms of how they are manufactured and presented on screen. Le Jetee is an odd movie since it's a photo book of still images about a post-nuclear war time-travel experiment rather than a real motion picture. In contrast, the movie 12 monkeys tells the story of a prisoner who is taken back in time to learn more about a virus that was created by humans and that killed most of the planet's inhabitants. As most of both films takes place in futuristic settings with time travel, they may both be classified as sci-fi. One of the most important lessons I learned from seeing this video is that, when done well, remakes may match the atmosphere of original films. This is relevant to our project since we may utilize elements from well-made movies as inspiration and guidelines to create a movie that might be compared to Hollywood-caliber productions.Another thing I learned from seeing this film is that genres may be combined to provide a more dramatic effect. They demonstrate in the video how they can take a sci-fi thriller and incorporate elements of a doomed relationship to produce that dramatic, emotional effect using examples from the film 12 Monkeys. In order to add emotion to our movie, I think there should be a method to incorporate this.
