Short film: Kiss chase




 For short film research I decided to watch the short film, Kiss Chase Ebele Tate. I looked for similarities between the drama genre and this film. 

Common Sound: The film similarly uses non-diegetic sound to use calming music in most parts of the film. The film also uses background music to express emotion in the film. The film also uses sound effects which could be used in action films as well. 

Common Mis-En-Scene: The film uses similar costumes to the drama genre with shirts and jeans. The film also uses the sun as a primary source of lighting to show the sweat on characters which brings out the intensity.

Common Editing: Common editing between the film and the action genre is the use of lots of shaky camera movement and enhancement of images. The use of jump cuts are common in this film

I like how the drama genre appeals to bringing out intensity in film which is not the hardest thing to do. Filming the drama genre also sounds extremely challenging but still fun. I think filming a drama film may be one of the best genres to film if I want to become more experienced in producing media. 

Some issues with the drama genre are that it seems high maintenance to film. It seems like you need a lot of time and props to be able to film. The acting in drama also has to be extrmely well so it does not seem corny and bad.

Yet again more editing

  We started editing our film last time my group and I met up. We didn't end up finishing so we decided to plan another time to finish. We had a three day weekend so it was the perfect time to finish. We all have quite busy schedules so we picked a day best for everyone. My group and I met up at Allisons house to continue editing. We knew this time would be quicker than last time since we already had the hang of it. But it actually was a lot faster than I expected.  It only took us about an hour to finish up editing everything. We had to finish putting the last few scenes together. We also had to add the background music and make sure everything was correct. We all grew quite impatient while editing since we were so eager to see the final outcome. We had a check list of all the different components we needed to complete throughout the project to keep us on track.  Props: -  Our group's music video is for an alternative song so many fun, party props are needed. We will need accessories such as jewelry,  glasses, and hats. We will also need props such as drink cups, a radio, and a microphone.  Costumes: - In our commercial our actors will be wearing party clothes such as colorful, or glittery items. Our male actor will wear black slacks and a white button down. Our female actors will be wearing dresses or fancy skirts. Actors will also be wearing dress shoes such as heels, flats or loafers for our male actor.
